Homemade Pizza Marigold from Lisa

A classic homemade pizza with fresh toppings, perfect for sharing and customizing to your taste.

Ingredients
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeastmake it yourself
1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F/45°C)
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup tomato sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheesemake it yourself
1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
1/2 cup sliced bell peppers
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Fresh basil leaves (optional)make it yourself

Method

Activate the yeast by mixing it with warm water and a pinch of sugar; let it sit until foamy, about 5 minutes.

In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and olive oil. Add the activated yeast mixture and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes.

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, approximately 45 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Punch down the risen dough and divide it into two equal portions.

On a floured surface, stretch or roll each portion into a thin round shape.

Transfer the dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone.

Spread tomato sauce evenly over the surface of each dough base.

Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top, then add pepperoni, bell peppers, and dried oregano.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.

Remove from oven, garnish with fresh basil if desired, and slice to serve.
