Method

Activate the yeast by mixing it with warm water and a pinch of sugar; let it sit until foamy, about 5 minutes.

In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and olive oil. Add the activated yeast mixture and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes.

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, approximately 45 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Punch down the risen dough and divide it into two equal portions.

On a floured surface, stretch or roll each portion into a thin round shape.

Transfer the dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone.

Spread tomato sauce evenly over the surface of each dough base.
