500g ground beef or lamb1 large onion, chopped2 carrots, diced2 cloves garlic, minced1 cup frozen peas2 tablespoons tomato paste1 teaspoon dried thyme1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauceSalt and pepper to taste4 large potatoes, peeled and chopped4 tablespoons butter1/2 cup milkSalt and pepper for mashed potatoesOlive oil for sautéing

Method

Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).

Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain and mash with butter and milk, season with salt and pepper.

Meanwhile, heat a splash of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions, carrots, and garlic until softened.

Add the ground meat, cook until browned. Stir in tomato paste, thyme, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes.

Add peas and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Season to taste.

Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish, spreading evenly.
