Baked Ziti Maria

A comforting and cheesy baked pasta dish that's perfect for family dinners and makes everyone feel at home.

Ingredients
1 pound (450g) ziti pasta2 cups marinara sauce
1 pound (450g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese1 pound (450g) ricotta cheese2 tablespoons olive oil3 cloves garlic, minced1 small onion, choppedSalt and black pepper to tasteFresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Method

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the ziti pasta in salted boiling water until al dente; drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped onion; sauté until fragrant and translucent.

Mix the cooked pasta with marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, half of the shredded mozzarella, and the sautéed aromatics. Season with salt and pepper.

Transfer the pasta mixture to a greased baking dish. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.

Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.

Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
