Uncle Fred's Christmas Table Peppermint Hot Chocolate
A rich, minty hot chocolate crowned with snowy whipped cream, made to bring festive cheer to the Christmas table.

Chill a mixing bowl and whisk for 10 minutes.

Pour the heavy cream into the chilled bowl.

Add the powdered sugar to the cream.

Whisk the cream until soft peaks form.

Combine the cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and salt in a saucepan.

Whisk in 1/2 cup of the milk until smooth.

Pour in the remaining milk.

Heat the mixture over medium-low heat until steaming.

Add the chopped chocolate.

Whisk until the chocolate melts completely.

Remove the saucepan from the heat.

Stir in the peppermint extract.

Divide the hot chocolate among four mugs.
