Homemade Couscous

1 cup coarse (semolina) wheat flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup water (adjust as needed)

Method

In a large mixing bowl, combine the coarse wheat flour and salt. Gradually add water while mixing with your fingers or a fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs with some larger grains. Transfer the mixture to a couscousière or a steamer basket lined with parchment. Steam over boiling water for 10-15 minutes, then remove and fluff with a fork. Repeat the steaming process once more for a light, fluffy texture. Let cool slightly before using or storing. Your homemade couscous is now ready to be served or used in dishes.
